Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS)2026 for Master’s degree study in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2026 Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships. The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) offer a unique opportunity to study a two-year Master’s degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. Aimed at students committed to creating change in their communities, the scholarships are a life-changing opportunity to experience a new country and culture, broaden horizons, and build a global network that will last a lifetime.
Through cultural exchange and academic collaboration, Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholars help bring about positive change and find solutions to our shared challenges, both in their home countries and those that host them. As an active part of the Commonwealth network, scholars will help shape its future.
Requirements
Citizens (or those who hold refugee status) in a Commonwealth country are welcome to apply.
There is no upper age limit to be eligible for a QECS Award.
You must have attained a minimum of 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level to be eligible to apply.

Look through the list of countries and universities hosting scholarships in this cycle. Please note that only the courses listed are eligible for scholarship funding.
Visit the relevant university website for more information on your chosen course using the links included below.
Complete and submit a QECS application for your chosen university/course by clicking the ‘Apply now’ button. Once you’ve clicked apply, you’ll be directed to a log in page. If you don’t already have a myACU account, click get started’ in the right-hand corner of the page to start your application.
Submit an application to your chosen university for admission to your chosen course.

Stephen Young Global Leaders’ Scholarship Programme
Eligibility: International and home (UK) students
This scholarship offers full fees and living costs.
To be considered, You must have an offer to study an MBA programme with Strathclyde Business School before applying for a scholarship (So consider applying now). You must also be able to demonstrate exceptional academic merit.

Commonwealth Distance Learning Master’s Scholarships 2025/2026 for developing Commonwealth countries (Fully Funded)
Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) provides the UK government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives. It operates within the framework of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) and vividly demonstrates the UK’s enduring commitment to the Commonwealth. By attracting individuals with outstanding talent and identifiable potential from all backgrounds and supporting them to become leaders and innovators upon returning to their home countries, the CSC’s work combines sustainable development with the UK's national interest and provides opportunities for international partnerships and collaboration.
Intended beneficiaries: Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are for candidates from eligible low and middle income Commonwealth countries, to undertake part-time taught Master’s study with UK universities while remaining in their home countries.
Applicant Eligibility
To be eligible for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, applicants should:
Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
Be a permanent resident in a developing Commonwealth country.
Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases.
Be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship.
How to Apply
The deadline for applying is 16:00 GMT on Tuesday, 20 May 2025. The scholarships are for study beginning in September/October 2025.
Applications to the CSC must be made using the CSC’s online application system.
